Another simple way to improve your church’s website is to utilize pictures of people instead of pictures of facilities.  Often a church makes the mistake of using empty or outside building shots instead of actual shots of the people.  I think this undercuts your message that the church is about people.  Furthermore, you may be missing a huge opportunity to use photography to connect with people and to start telling your story.

Here’s a simple test to see if your site passes – go to the homepage and count how many faces you see.  Now look through the top 5 pages people are visiting on your website and try to evaluate what your photography or lack of photography is communicating, better yet go ask that question to people who do not attend your church.
